Under the guidance of the Game Development Division of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), a “Future Match Referee Training Workshop” will be held this June. According to the official BCB notice, interested candidates were asked to submit their CVs and applications by June 2, 2025. The course is scheduled to begin immediately after Eid and will run for approximately two weeks.
Application Process
• Submission of Documents: Applicants must send their CVs and completed application forms within the specified deadline.
• Training Period: Daily sessions will combine online modules with in-person classroom training.
• Assessment: Participants must pass both a written exam and practical evaluation at the end of the workshop.
Notable Applicants
• Habibul Bashar Suman: The former national team captain has applied, viewing this course as a strategic step in his post-playing career.
• Abdur Razzak: Currently a member of the BCB national selection panel, Razzak has also enrolled to develop his match-refereeing expertise.
Current Roles & Expertise
• Habibul Bashar: Now oversees operations within BCB’s Game Development Department and has previous experience as a national selector.
• Abdur Razzak: As an active member of the national selection panel, his deep cricketing experience will enrich the workshop’s practical insights.
Objectives & Expectations
Through this workshop, the BCB aims to cultivate a pool of highly qualified match referees from among Bangladesh’s top cricketing talents. By combining rigorous training with real-world scenarios, the Board intends to boost the presence of Bangladeshi referees in future international fixtures.
