Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government and Nobel Prize–winning economist, will address the nation today at 7:00 pm on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
This information was confirmed by his press secretary, Shafiqul Alam, in a post on his verified Facebook page on Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, on Friday morning, Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali, Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), visited the National Eidgah to inspect Eid preparations and security arrangements. After the inspection, he announced that the main Eid congregational prayer will be held at the National Eidgah at 7:30 am, where Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus will lead the prayer.
In addition to Dr. Yunus, the Chief Justice, other judges, government advisors, Muslim diplomats posted in Dhaka, and other prominent figures will also participate in the congregational prayer.
The Chief Advisor’s presence and address at this special Eid event have generated significant interest in political, social, and religious circles.
