Relief as Miraj Returns, Bangladesh Maintain Dominance in Galle Test

The Bangladesh men’s side has set out for Sri Lanka to contest the full Test tour, opening with a two‑match series. Unfortunately, Mehedi Hasan Miraj was sidelined by fever for the opening two days and couldn’t represent his country on the field. Having recovered, he joined the squad at Galle Stadium on Wednesday, arriving in the team bus straight from the hotel.

Miraj’s absence in the first Test had dented team morale, but his comeback on Day 3 brought a welcome moment of calm to the camp. If he passes the fitness checks, he’ll line up alongside his teammates again when the second Test gets under way.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have held the upper hand throughout the first two days of the Galle Test, closing Day 2 on a commanding 484 for 9. When play resumes, Nahid and Hasan Mahmud will take guard—today’s fortunes will hinge on their contributions.
